Years of managing people and working in the parts and service industry have lent him the wisdom to build effective teams: \u201cI lead by empowering my team with the knowledge and resources to make their own decisions,\u201d says Garry.<\/span><\/p>\n As a vetern in the online part and accessory sales space, Garry is comfortably selling millions upon millions of dollars of product each and every year. The secret to his success? He says it\u2019s all about \u201c[finding] the right people to do the job, [building] clear processes, and [empowering] your team with the ability to make decisions and move forward.\u201d We\u2019re inclined to take his word for it.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/b><\/p>\n With parts eCommerce, Garry has laid a strong foundation for the dealership to handle a constantly fluctuating economic climate and automotive industry. \u201cCar dealers were forced to change the way they do business and a lot of people were forced to change how they buy auto parts, too,\u201d Garry explains, \u201cinternet parts revenue really helped maintain our business\u2026 it picked up a lot of slack for the rest of the store, in sales and profit.\u201d Garry explains that parts eCommerce not only helped their bottom line, but also saved jobs: \u201dA lot of the departments were looking to lay off people, we were looking to hire.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https:\/\/www.revolutionparts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/QualityBuick-Laptop.jpg” title_text=”QualityBuick-Laptop” align=”center” _builder_version=”4.8.1″ _module_preset=”default”][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.8.1″ _module_preset=”default” header_5_text_color=”#db3126″ header_5_font_size=”26px” header_5_line_height=”1.4em” custom_margin=”44px||||false|false”]<\/p>\n When Garry first started selling with RevolutionParts, he didn\u2019t realize how much he stood to make: \u201cI have certain monthly and annual sales goals for each department, which continue to grow,\u201d he says, \u201cthe online parts and accessories business has gone from generating $300,000 a month to $1 million on good months.\u201d But Garry knows that the machine doesn\u2019t run on it\u2019s own and the growth pace is dependent on effort: \u201cyou get what you put into it.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The year 2020 was financially challenging for even the savviest US dealerships and it\u2019s no secret that in cutting costs, the parts department tends to be first on the chopping block. As the Parts and Service Director, Garry was faced with the challenge of trimming the fat while remaining profitable. \u201cGoing into Covid, I considered shutting our internet parts business down and I\u2019m glad I didn\u2019t,\u201d says Garry, \u201cIn fact, in 2020 we expanded our internet department.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Garry\u2019s believes that the automotive industry is not far from returning to equilibrium.
